Prairie Phlox (Phlox pilosa) This beautiful, bright pink Prairie Phlox is a the larval host plant for the very rare Pink Phlox Moth. The moth is dwindling due to habitat loss.
A mounded perennial, prairie phlox grows 1-2 ft. tall and bears clusters of fragrant, pale pink to lavender flowers. The petals of the showy flowers are joined at their bases into an elongated tube. Stems and narrow, paired leaves are covered with soft hairs.
