Milkweeds for Monarchs

Butterfly Milkweed Seeds (Asclepius tuberosa)

        
Butterfly Milkweed is a host plant for Monarchs. It has a vibrant orange color, one of the brightest and most colorful native North American plants. Easily grown in sunny locations and sandy soils. Butterfly Milkweed blooms for 4-6 weeks, late June through July, just in time for the Michigan monarch migration!

Rose Milkweed (Asclepius incarnata) (aka Swamp Milkweed)

       

Rose/Swamp Milkweed is hardy with fragrant and colorful blossoms. As are all native milkweeds, Rose Milkweed is a host plant for the Monarch butterfly. Their other pollinator friends will love its nectar too. This is the perfect plant for a moist area with some sun, but they adapt well to most garden conditions. they will bloom just in time for the migrating monarch arrival in late June through July!
