Our popular Monarch Buffet Kit offers ten different varieties of natives that support the entire Monarch butterfly life cycle, from egg to adult migration. It contains two different types of milkweed: butterfly weed and rose milkweed. Not only are these milkweeds beautiful, they are Monarch larval hosts and produce delicious nectar for the egg-laying adults. The selection of plants in this kit will offer nectar from June through October to support breeding and provide nectar for adult Monarchs before their fall migration to Mexico!
Design Tips:
- Allow at least 1 - 1.5 sq ft per plant: up to 30 square ft, for example, 6' x 5' or 7' x 4'
- Prepare your garden site (follow the link for details)
- A sunny location is an ideal condition for this grouping
- Plants in this kit will all do well in wet to moderate soil moisture conditions
- Group plants of the same species together
- Consider the height of each plant. Position taller plants at the back and shorter plants at the front.
